We’ve Got News 💡 Meet Our New Owner

To all my valued customers,

I am writing to let you know that I have sold Concord Lamp & Shade after having devoted over 20 years of my life to the store. My decision was made giving careful consideration to the welfare and long term growth prospects for the business.

Concord Lamp & Shade first turned the lights on (pun intended) in historic Concord in 1976. Ownership of the little store shifted to me in 2004. Since then, the business has grown considerably, even in the face of a number of storms: the economic downturn in 2008, COVID in the early ‘20s and the growing impact of the internet. While many other businesses have been forced to shut down, Concord Lamp & Shade has not only weathered the headwinds but has continued to grow. The growth has in large part been due to our loyal and growing customer base – key to the strength of any business.

Christopher “Chip” Huyett, a longtime Concord resident, has taken the reins of Concord Lamp & Shade as of December 1, 2025. Chip understands the potential of Concord Lamp & Shade, and he has the interest and energy to continue the store’s fine service to our customers: selling new lighting, restoring vintage lamps, repairing and replacing lampshades, as well as designing and customizing both lamps and shades into works of art. He is committed to cultivating and expanding the store’s 50-year local presence and at the same time increasing our national presence through our website – concordlampandshade.com. His extensive background in e-commerce positions him well to take on this challenge.

In the meantime, other than myself, the business will continue to operate with its current staff, and the high quality of our service will go on unchanged.

Customers routinely come into the store with a common refrain: “We’re so glad you are still here”! Please know how much I have enjoyed and appreciated the longstanding relationships I have with so many of you. With this change, I expect that you will continue to sing that refrain.

Thank you to all!

Ann
