Scalloped Empire Silk Lampshades – Blue Ikat Linen

The Silk Empire lampshade is one of the oldest lampshade designs, and can be considered the “workhorse” of all lampshade styles. The Scalloped Silk Empire lampshade is a variation – a fancy variation – to the traditional Silk Empire lampshade. Dimensionally, the Scalloped Silk Empire lampshade is similar to the traditional Silk Empire lampshade – the only difference being the Scalloped Silk Empire lampshade is longer than the same sized Silk Empire counterpart. But, the Scalloped Silk Empire lampshade is designed with a series of rounded, convex projections – scallops – that form a decorative edge on the top and bottom of the lampshade frame. Both Silk Empire lampshades exhibit a straight line from the top of the lampshade to the bottom of the shade or the bottom of the scallops. The Scalloped Silk Empire lampshades are useful on a wide variety of table and floor lamps including those with a Victorian or whimsical flair.
