We are finally enjoying sunnier and warmer days – summer is nearly here! We have seen the normal influx of customers to the store looking for new lampshades to replace the tattered and torn shades removed from lamps at the end of last summer.
With our large collection of in-stock lampshades (about 2,000 lampshades in stock), we can typically find the same size and style in a replacement lampshade quickly – if your objective is to merely match the lampshade you have. However, often, our customers enjoy a change, and we have many possibilities from which to choose.
In addition to a large selection of “stock” lampshades, one of the displays greeting our customers are our collection of nautical chart lampshades.
If your summer house is on the Cape or one of the islands, you can choose a new lampshade made from the nautical chart that captures the location of your summer house and other shoreline locales. One of our most popular nautical chart lampshades is of the island of Nantucket, but we can design a lampshade using any nautical chart from the immense coastline of the United States, as well as inland waters such as the shade featuring Lake Winnipesaukee (below). We are currently working on a nautical chart lampshade that includes the cities of San Francisco, Boston and New York! It is not finished yet, but we promise to talk about it when it is completed.
A nautical chart lampshade is not going to work in every room in your house, but we also have lampshades designed using the line of Cape Cod toile fabrics from Joan Peters. Whether it is the Cape, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket – Lobster Red or Lighthouse Gray or Sailor Blue or Vineyard Sand – we have a colorway, style and size of lampshade that will enhance any lamp in your summer house.
Remember, after you get your summer house in order – new lampshades and all – you can relax and enjoy the happy days ahead!
