Silk Drum Lampshades

The silk drum lampshade shape is an enduring classic, standing the test of time. Popular in the 50’s and 60’s, the drum has made a strong comeback in the design world in the last several years. Characterized by nearly equal top and bottom diameters, the silk drum styles differ in heights with the shallow drum the shortest style, increasing in height to the retro drum, then the standard drum, the deep drum and finally the cylinder and deep cylinder lampshade style. As with all silk lampshades, the silk drum lampshades are built on a frame where the top ring is connected to the bottom ring by a series of vertical wires, and the inside is lined with a fabric.
