We are Boston Strong!

We are Boston Strong!

When I woke up one week ago today I never imagined the tragedy and chaos that would unfold in Boston. After all, it was Marathon Monday and Patriot’s Day, a civic holiday commemorating the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775.

What was supposed to be a day of celebration, personal accomplishment and friendly competition turned into one of the most tragic days Boston has ever seen.

Innocent lives were lost and there are still people fighting for survival, but amidst the tragedy there are stories of hope, strength and community. We are a resilient people and we are strong, and through all of this I am so proud to live and work in this community.

Perhaps one of my favorite representations of Boston is this Boston Toile fabric designed by Joan Peters which features several iconic places in Boston including Trinity Church, Fenway Park, the Old State House, Prudential Building, and even the finish line of the Boston Marathon…

These are our beloved places in Boston, and now more than ever, they will hold a special place in our hearts. We are Boston Strong.
