Think Spring: Red Sox Baseball Table Lamp

Click here if you are interested in checking out our Red Sox table lamp.

It might be brutally cold in New England this morning, but if you can believe it, our beloved Boston Red Sox are down in sunny Florida training for the 2015 MLB season. We’re slightly jealous and dreaming of those warmer days when they return to Fenway. Until then, the scene on the Red Sox Baseball Table Lamp shade is taking us away to a warm day at the park!

The Red Sox Baseball Table Lamp is designed and made at our shop in Concord and constructed with three stacked major league baseballs. The base of the lamp is milled in the shape of home plate and made using ash (available in either painted white or clear ash).  Ash is the wood used to make many of the major league bats. The lamp shade features original artwork, by a local artist, Jack Skinner of a game at Fenway Park between the Red Sox and the “evil empire” (aka the Yankees). In this game, the score board in left field shows the Red Sox leading 9-0, and the “empire” has one error!  Wally is in the left field stands, your favorite icons are in their proper places in and around the park, and the fans sitting in the back of the stadium are wearing Red Sox team jerseys from recent teams, including the series MVP, Big Papi, David Ortiz.

We hope this lamp helps warm your hearts and minds as we head into spring. Fourteen more days to go! We are over-the-moon excited!

Light Up the 2013 Patriots Season with New Patriots Football Table Lamp

Click here to learn more about our Patriots football table lamp.

We New England football fans are spoiled – we have been able to watch one of the best NFL teams in the country for over 20 years.   The 2013 football season is already half way over and the Patriots are once again off to a strong start with a 7 and 2 record…with a promise of the best to come!   And now you can celebrate the team, the season and the success with the New Patriots Football Table Lamp.

The Patriots Football Table Lamp was designed with the Patriots players and fans in mind…. It is big, it is colorful, it has presence, and it is soooo special!!!  Designed and manufactured at our shop in Concord, it features a Patriots logo football and a unique lampshade of a game between the Pats and their NY rival!

Image 1 PFL

The base of the lamp is a rectangular piece of wood, cut to the same proportion as the playing football field.  The wood is covered with astro turf, and is completed with a white line marker, a kicking tee and a Patriots logo football.

The lampshade is also rectangular and features original artwork, by our local artist, Jack Skinner, of a game at Gillette Stadium between the Pats and the Jets.  In this game, the score board shows the Pats leading 31-0.  Pat Patriot is in the corner of the stadium, your favorite icons are in their proper places around the stadium, and the fans sitting in the back of the stadium are wearing Patriots team jerseys from their most favorite Patriots players – past and present.

But, the most unique feature of the lamp is to watch the game change from a day game to a night game; when the light is off, the Patriots are playing a day game.  But, when the light is turned on….. you are  watching the Pats play a night game!  The moon and the stars awaken, the stadium lights come on, the field and the goal posts light up, as does the light in the lighthouse, the scoreboard and the megatrons.

An extra and special touch to the lamp is a football finial.  The lamp is shipped with a small brass, non-decorative final.  However, many people chose a final at the top of the lamp to mimic the logo football.

Either way – it is a special lamp and one you and your Pats fans (of all ages) will enjoy for many years.   To get your lamp, go to our website, concordlampandshade.com to order, or call the store 978.369.3000, and we will slide one into your home!

Opening day at Fenway was Monday and Red Sox fever is infecting Boston – and what a start to the new season!   As New Englanders, we live and breathe Red Sox, but here at the store we’re especially loving baseball season because it’s the season for our favorite lamp – the Boston Red Sox table lamp!

The lamp was designed and made at our store in Concord, MA using MLB baseballs with the Red Sox logo. The base of the lamp is made of ash (the same wood used to make many major league bats) and is milled locally into the shape of home plate (available in either painted white or clear ash).

Perhaps the most notable feature is the lampshade’s original artwork created by a local artist, Jack Skinner. The lampshade illustrates a game at Fenway Park between the Red Sox and the evil empire (aka the Yankees). In this game, the scoreboard in left field shows the Red Sox leading 9-0, and the empire has one error. Wally is in the left field stands, your favorite icons are in their proper places in and around the park, and the fans in the back of the stadium are wearing Red Sox team jerseys from the 2009-2011 teams.

One of the features that I love the best is when the light is off, you see a day game being played. But, when the light is on, it becomes a night game!  The moon and the stars come out, the stadium lights come on, Wally lights up, as does the field and the Red Sox Hall of Fame.

If you’re a Boston Red Sox fan you can probably understand why we’re so excited to show you this lamp. It’s the best thing since the Fenway Frank!
